When do I receive the results?

The delivery of results of an anatomopathological study depends on its complexity, findings and if it needs additional studies. That’s why it is very difficult to stablish an exact time for each analysis.

To whom do they give the results?

In the medical order, issued by the attending physician, said if the results are sending to the consulting room or if the customer prefers, it can be picked up personally in Patología Las Américas.

Are the results given to a different person than the patient?

Yes, with a written authorization by the patient, plus a copy of the patient's identification.

If there is a specific finding can I speak with the pathologist?

It is preferable that you consult with your physician, he is in charge of inform you the findings and stablish the treatment options to follow. The pathologist can only explain what he found; the evolution, treatment or advice is given by your doctor.

Why the names of the studies are rare or difficult to understand?

It is because the pathology is a science that constantly changes and the majority of the results take the name of the researcher or the technique that was used.
